Walking away.

There she was, striving to find the perfect fit,

The perfect fit for her little puzzle.

Little did she know that exploring meant walking outside the safety net.

It may hurt and It does hurt and people might say they understand, But do they really? In your moment of vulnerability, nothing anyone can say might comfort you, in reality, it all hurts differently for everyone, the grief takes time, the pain is immense, and the process is tough and challenging.

Everyone around you will come and tell you it will all be okay, and it will be. It may take some time or plenty even but you need to remember that baby steps are still progress.

Everyone talks about disconnecting people, but no one talks about the anguish that comes with having to stick with that decision. Knowing that it was not what you wanted, but what was necessary for your well-being.

All the people around you, they might not see it all. The people who tell you to let it go, all they see is the ruin of a broken relationship, the shattered heart, and the gentle tears. They witness the clashes and frustrations. They notice the unsightly broken portions and what is left. However, they forget to ask "Left of what?"

They are oblivious to the fact that the ruins were once a castle. The thunderstorm was once a clear, shining blue night sky. The Rubble was once an architectural masterpiece of hope, love and dreams for the future. The love wasn't always so shattered. It's easy for them to say "Walk away" when they can't see everything you're walking away from.

All the time spent together was precious and momentous but not justified for how you were treated after. No one should or can make you doubt or feel less about yourself. You deserve better. You deserve the best. And good things take time for some.

So keep your head up. Keep the light strong within you. And keep moving forward. You've got this!
